The bottom line: This is a good consumer level reader to track application and webpage passwords. The minor annoyances of the software do not interfere with the functioning of the device.
I bought this as an inexpensive way to keep a track of the plethora of passwords that I use every day. The fingerprint reader is accurate and can keep track of 10 prints. The reader itself is compact and connects via a USB cable.

The issues that I have had with this reader is that the software Microsoft provides has several drawbacks. The first is that the program only recognizes the internet page as it is captured when you initially register the fingerprint with the page. So if the login webpage changes, even slightly, the fingerprint reader will not work and you have to create a new fingerprint login for that page. Even more annoying is that the software will keep the list of webpages in memory with no easy way to delete obsolete pages. The program maintains a menu bar list called "quicklinks" that enables rapid sign in to webpages. In the manual, the only way to delete a page on "quicklinks" is to log in by fingerprint first to enable the capability to delete the page. (But if the page is obsolete, you can't log in!!) So I ended up with a entire list of dead end pages. I finally got fed up and searched through the directory to see if I could manually delete the pages. I finally found it buried in one of the random files.

Overall, the reader itself works well and eliminates the need to remember the myriad of passwords and the mistake of only using one password for all logins. The software could be much better but is otherwise easy to use.
