HOW I BOUGHT:
I first discovered this fingerprint reader integrated on a keyboard. As cool as the fingerprint reader sounded, I already owned a wireless keyboard and didn't feel like spending a grip of cash to purchase a new version of something that was already working well for me. While walking around Office Depot, I found this fingerprint reader accessory available separate from a keyboard! Looking at the price tag, I saw it was $40. I don't like spending a lot of money, but I like to have cool stuff. If you're like this, then you may soon discover a new best friend.

WHERE I BOUGHT:
When it comes to buying things online, my best friend is ebay. Craigslist works well too. I ended up purchasing this fingerprint reader gadget for $23 shipped to my house! That's almost 50% off retail and took less than 1 week to arrive!

THE GOOD:
Wow, it works fast! It worked so well in fact that a bit of me doubted whether or not it was really working. What if my pet cat touched the reader or if my sister hopped onto my desk and put her finger there. Would it recognize a paw or non registered finger to be mine? Was this simply some stupid toy that appears to work, but doesn't? No! My sister hopped on and within a second the software recognized her finger as a stranger and would not allow her to access my login sites. This product is wonderful.

THE BAD:
If you love Mozilla's Firefox browser, you may be ditching that and revisiting the days of Microsoft's inferior Internet Explorer. I should have guessed that this Microsoft fingerprint reader only works for Microsoft web browsers. That's kind of a pain because I love Firefox's capabilities unmatched by Internet Explorer. I hear this product isn't safe for business use which worries me a bit. The functionality of it and simply the coolness of having a fingerprint reader however is good enough to keep me as a user.

THE UGLY:
If you want to know what it's like to be Cyclop's (X-Men character) friend, you'll soon know if you keep this fingerprint reader on your desk. It produces a blinding red light if looked at from an angle. If you plan to keep this reader next to your keyboard, it will blind you. I luckily have it on a keyboard tray.

PERFECT FOR WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE?
I'm a young 20 something fellow who has multiple accounts here and there. I have 3 yahoo mail accounts, additional email accounts everywhere, several website accounts, and evite account, auto enthusiast forum account and plenty others. With today's security requiring a capitalized letter here and number there, it's difficult to use the same password for everything. When memory becomes a drag or you simply want lightening fast access, this product works wonders. In fact, I used it to log into epinions!
