Pros: light weight, great range, fast focus
Cons: plasticy feel, changes lengths when zooming, slack in the focus ring

This lens is a great range of focal lengths, however, it is not professional grade. I got it with my D80 and i havent even shot with it yet, but just picking it up, its not a high quality build. The hood is kind of loose and the focus ring has some slack in it. which is fine being that we all use AF most of the time. The one thing that i didnt find anywhere in all of my research was that the lens physically changes lengths when zooming. So if that bothers you then look else where. If i could do it all over again, i would have bought a lens of this focal length seperate. buy the body and get your own lens. but by no means is it a BAD lens, i mean after all, it is a 400 lens from nikon, it'll out do all the sigmas and tamarons in this price range. but again it is not a professional lens. I will be using my niko 80 - 200mm 2.8 as much as i can....
