This game came to my attention while I was surfing the original Total Annihilation websites. I was a little bored of TA so I decided to temporarily trade TA for Kingdoms. I loved it right away, but as I got farther into the game it became redundant and I realized it had more limitations then the original. It had am interesting story line and plot, with four sides to play for instead of two. Four siblings battle each other with magical powers to rule their father's lands. Each side is specialized in different ways, Aramon has strong, but few, land based creatures, Taros weaker, but more, ground based creatures. Zhon has the strongest air power, while Veruna rules the seas. This is often fun, but limits what a person can do in a single battle. Also, the campaigns in Kingdoms are different from TA. Instead of choosing a side and fighting with that one side all the time, all the way to victory, the player is pushed back and forth between sides, the little control that they had over the story in TA, gone. Overall the graphics and sounds are good, but once again, not the same as the original TA. For those of you who like to pick up games for a few days, and go back to them once in awhile, this game is a real treat. But otherwise borrow it from a friend and give back when bored with it, it's not really worth too much.
