The bottom line: A must have for the Xbox 360. Bioshock represents the future of gaming, where art, storytelling, and gameplay mesh into a wonderful experience.
Bioshock is one of the most immersive, thought provoking games ever. But don't think the gameplay suffers because of it. It is still a blast to freeze a pond full of bad guys or catch grenades and throw them back at a target. However, the real essence of the game is the story, which keeps you playing for hours because you feel guilty leaving it. The power of choice has become more prevalent in gaming, and Bioshock is no exception.

There are power upgrades, weapon upgrades, and Plasmid upgrades which you can perform at your discretion depending on your favorite way to dispatch your enemies.

You can either go all out, guns-a-blazing, and mow you opponents down. Or you can hack turrets and cameras to take out your foes with more premeditation and stealth.
The Plasmids offer almost magical powers which are a lot of fun to use. You can freeze your targets, shock them, light them on fire, or turn them against each other. In essence, you can really never play the game the same twice because of the variety of ways you can achieve your objectives.

The city Rapture has its own morality, which led to its demise. Consequently, morality plays a role in the decisions you make throughout the game. Do you sacrifice the doomed inhabitants of Rapture to increase your chance of survival or do you try to save both your life while still clinging to your morality? This adds a nice twist to the game, and truly affects the outcome.

This game is NOT designed for kids, with high amounts of gore, swearing, and gratuitous violence. In addition, the themes cannot truly be appreciated by a 13 year old. However, for adults who could care less about the subject matter, there is plenty of jaw dropping visuals and heart pumping action to keep any gamer happy.
