The bottom line: Great if you are skater fan or gamer fan that can't skate and love these type of games.
More and more Tony Hawk. What more can you expect from a Tony Hawk. Being the first Tony Hawk on the PS3, this game looks back to it's roots. Controls are exceptional, sounds is okay, and graphics are good.

This version will have you create your own profile/skater, travel through the board and perform tricks, enter challenges while your goal is to make it #1 and be in Tony Hawks Project.

Controls
The control in this game is very smooth and well structured. You are able to choose which move you would like to pull whenever you would like to pull it. They have included many real moves used in the sport, such as, kickflip, heelflip, hardflip, k-grind, and many more. The triangle button is used for the different type of grids/slides that can be pulled off during the game, the square is for flip tricks and the circle is used for grabs. The left and right buttons are for spinning, while the X button is used to ollie/nollie. The controls are very easy to pickup on making the game that much more fun.
A nice feature in this installament is one using the Dual Analogs, where everything goes into slow motion and you perform your trick and must land it.

Game Play
There is no skipping in the game play or any major glitches that I was able to see.
There is not much more that is need to be said, the game play in most skater games doesn't even compare to that of THP8. Similar to that of other THPS games.

Sound
The music in this game is from a variety of punk/ska bands. This really hits home for a lot of skaters as punk is the preferred music choice for most people in this sport. There is a good selection of quality bands and songs to accompany the game. The sound effects themselves are fairly well done, they have gotten the actual sound of real skateboarders popping moves and riding through different terrain to capture the effects. Although they do seem good there is a lot of room for improvement in and future skateboarding games NeverSoft or Activation decides to release.

Graphic
The graphics are improved over other Tony Hawk games. This should be expected being on a next generation console system. In game graphics are good, smooth. To say almost life like may be an over statement. Overall the graphics on THPS were done well but not to the best ability we all know NeverSoft and Activation are capable of. I'd like to see even more realistic generated graphics for future installments.

Overall
This game covers all the bases of the skateboarding world and did it with great accuracy. If another skateboarding game is released any time in the future it's gonna have to work hard to match the caliber of this game. Although, recently Tony Hawk seems like the only skating game on the market.
