The bottom line: I think everyone should go out and buy Singstar. It may have some down falls but it is a really great game to play.
Do you want to become a Superstar? What about a hit artist? Singstar makes you feel like you are actually achieving your dreams. Singstar is a karaoke video game, made for playstations and psps. It is the second leading video game from playstation from the singing franchise. Singstar involves two microphones that recognize your pitch, rhythm, and tone to score your performance. Behind the words that you are singing is the music video to that particular song. There can also be two players involved. There is also EyeToy USB camera on the singstar where you can replace the music video with you singing. There are four different Singstar games. This includes Amped, Rock, 80’s, and Pop. They also have a Singstar 90’s, but it is only available in the UK. All of the Singstars involve thirty of the top hits in that category. Pop involves the late 90’s early 2,000s top hit pop artists. These artists include Rihanna, Whitney Houston, All American Rejects, and Destiny’s Child. These are among other famous artists that are portrayed on Singstar. Singstar Amped and Rock involve bands such as Radiohead, Aretha Franklin, and B52’s.

This game is fun for everyone. This game can make you forget about your past happenings of that day and let you live your dream. I own Singstar Pop, Amped, and Rock. After a long day of working and going to school I like to relax and have a good time. I will put one of these games on and sing. I am a terrible singer but it helps me become better. Singstar can help people become better singers because that person singing has to reach the right pitch and tone of the song to achieve it. Why spend hundreds of dollars on singing lessons when you can by this game for only thirty five dollars and receive the same lesson. This game is made for six and up but my four year old step brother plays this game all the time. This game has a playback button where you can playback the song you just sang and hear yourself. They have different features on this game. They have a solo feature, where you can play by yourself. They have pass the microphone. This game involve four to six people. There are seven rounds to this game where at the end of each round you pass the microphone onto one of your teammates. Another game is battle. This involves two people who face each other in singing a song. There is also a duet where both players sing together as a team. Another fun and difficult one is Keep It Up. This game involves two people battling against each other and singing there hearts out. There is a performance bar at the top of the screen, players must keep the performance bar up with there singing if the performance bar falls flat then the song will end and the other player will win. There are many other fun and exciting games to play on Singstar.
Tone Deaf
Like every game there are some problems. One of the problems that I have with the game is that some of the songs are too old. I know almost all the songs on Singstar pop but Singstar Amped and Rock are different. Amped and Rock are directed more towards the adults not the children and teens. My dad was playing Amped the other day and he did not know some of the songs on Amped along with Rock. My dad is fourty-five years old and he has never heard of some of the songs on the game. If the game wants to be more successful with a positive attitude they need songs on the game that are directed towards everyone. They should have took a poll among a group of people who were thinking of the people playing this game and asked them to put major hit songs on all the games. Another problem with the game is that there are too many cords involved in the game. They also should have made wireless microphones. I am a very clumsy person so is half of the United States so if there are many cords hanging from your playstation, it is most likely that I trip or someone else trips over the cords and ruin the playstation. Playstations are not that durable people. The game is fun though I have to give the makers that credit.
This game has its ups and downs to it but overall it is a very fun game. Everyone loves to sing. Even when people say that they do not sing, they really do. In the car, the shower, or even in your mind people sing everywhere. This game helps improve your singing and lets you experience other songs that you have not heard of before. On a scale of one to ten this game is defiantly an eight. This game is defiantly a Rising Star.
