Pros: A Dark Prince,controls,graphics,cut-scenes,characters,the story is better.
Cons: Some parts are frustrating and hard,camera,little direction to give you.
The bottom line: Warrior Within will sure please the fans of the genre.A great exprience to be played on your PS2 and Xbox.
Overview of Sands of Time:
Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time is one of my favorite games of 2003.Although,it wasn't selling as good as they would have thought(thank you ChromeKiller for the info),it's still a damn good game.Sands of Time had easy controls,great moves performed by the Prince,spectacular graphics and unforgettable characters.

The Story of Warrior Within:
Now the Prince has returned and has a darker side.This time the Prince is being chased.Yeah,the first game had you chasing someone but this time,you are the prey!In the first game,apparently,the Prince had spawned a supernatural creature named Dahaka while the Prince had opened the Sands of Time.Now,the Prince must go back in time where he created this monster and stop the Sands of Time from ever being created.

The Game-play:
Warrior Within brings so much more to the table than Sands of Time did.You have interactive surroundings to perform your combos on,you can slide from curtains,you have so many combos to use,a Free-roam system,you can go to the past or the present and so much more!You don't get much variety.You do sword battles with bosses and enemies too.If you pull of a combo just right,the enemy that you just killed,will release it's sand and then you have more sand to rewind back time when you fall or die.Also,the combos variety is amazing.You have jumping over an enemy and landing behind them,and before the enemy sees you,you slice off their head off.Oh and the enemy variation is great.You encounter dead pirates,black ghosts,huge monsters,to deadly but sexy girls that are just NAUGHTY!I did encounter a mission where you did have to fight this boss lady that was trying to push a girl off of a cliff like place.You had to distract the boss lady and kill her and rescue the girl from falling.The puzzle elements in this installment is better but it leaves little direction.You basically just find a way to open the door by jumping around the surroundings and finding the switch that which opens your exit to another place.Don't let that cool you off.There is more to it than that.You have to find a pattern in the boss' movements in order for you to successfully complete that objective.

Unforgettable Characters:
Yes,Warrior Within has them in here just like Sands of Time.They are mysterious,intresting,dark,sexy and sometimes scary.

The Graphics:
They are fantastic!The PS2 version has very good graphics although,the Xbox has cleaner graphics than the PS2.Don't get me wrong,they both have great graphics,but the Xbox has better but graphics doesn't compare to the controls that Warrior Within brings to the table.The character models look good and real.When they walk,you can actually tell that real walked for the team to copy their movements.The buildings however,are fantastic!When a building goes down like a statue,the statue falls and pieces of it just goes flying!The lighting throughout the game is pretty good and better than Sands of Time.At times,they are bland but they aren't bad looking.When light goes through the cracks of the buildings,they look good but the Xbox version is way better.Also,when it's raining,it's good but you can't beat the Xbox version.Also,when you are jumping around,it's fast and furious(compared to my movement..LOL).

Sound:
The actors do a great job on this one but sometimes,you can see that they are choppy sometimes.The sound effects of blowing ships,swords clanging together are great but they should have been louder.Although,the shrieks of the enemies when you hit them with your sword are annoying.They sound like birds being killed.Also,the rock music might be a little too harsh for the ears of the fans unless you are a fan of rock music.The music is too often and plays the same song over and over again.

The Controls:
They are much better than Sands of Time.They are exactly like Sands of Time but you can perform the moves better without all that frustration.The L1 is still the rewind time button,the X is the jump,the triangle and the square is the attack button,the circle is the throw weapon button,the left analog stick is where you use to move the Prince and the right analog stick is the camera movement.Less frustration equals fun!Also,if you get it on Xbox,be prepared because it is very hard to play this game.Well,unless you are really good with the Xbox controller unlike me.You have so many buttons to push that you might just push the wrong one and you might die from it and have to restart where you left off.

The Camera:
This is the biggest problem I have with this game.Although,you can use the right analog stick to move the camera,it is still frustrating.Some parts the camera is fine,other times they stick to one position and stay there until you move to the next place or corner.This is the biggest priority for the people that makes games.The camera HAS to be good in order for the gamers to enjoy it!

Difficulty:
Although,they are adjustable,Warrior Within does have some parts that are just hard!For an example,you are on a balcony and you have a treasure chest there and you smash it.Then,you see another balcony that leads to a curtain and a lever that you must press in order for the door to open.So,you jump on the treasure chest and run across the wall,jump on the balcony,run across the wall to the red curtain.But guess what?The Prince jumps on the curtain but goes down the curtain and not run across the red curtain to the lever.Later,I found out that I jump to the OTHER balcony and climb around it and jump through the easy way to the lever that was behind me when I first began that hard part.Also,as you can tell,the game has little direction to give you.

Lasting Appeal:
Warrior Within brings a longer trip to the unknown,collectibles to unlock and an alternate ending.

Closing Comments:
Warrior Within will please the fans of the original and give you a better exprience than the Sands of Time brought.Action/adventure fans will certainly enjoy this gem.It's a longer trip filled with sights to be seen,graphics to be noticed,characters to entertain you,sound to be heard and game-play to be played by you.
