Pros: Playing Xena
Cons: Bad graphics
Full review
Wow, was I surprised at this game. My sister rented Xena at the local Blockbuster, and we all were convinced that she had wasted her $5.40 on a silly, cheesy game. I've seen the show the game's based on a few times, and I had the same reaction to the game as I did to the show when I saw it for the first time: I'm totally surprised at how good both are. Most video games based on movies or television shows usually aren't that great (007 for the PSX comes to mind), but I found myself playing Xena for a couple hours. The object of Xena is to battle her way through warlords, Amazons, monsters, etc., to find a missing friend. Playing Xena is like playing one of the guys on Fighting Force or Double Dragon: you control Xena via third person perspective. Overall, it was pretty fun: you get to do some of Xena's trademark kicks, punch a few guys silly, and best of all, use that awesome chakram of hers. Despite the shoddy graphics, this was a pretty fun game to play.
