Pros: Graphics, sound, gameplay
Cons: Getting secrets should've been easier
Full review
Tony Hawk is back and is better than ever in this new death defying game called Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2. Tony Hawk 2 left off where the first original did and there are new people to play as and still the same old faces to be from the first. With new moves with each character you can keep getting more and more moves by gaining points and money to buy new moves to get new stuff and so on.
Characters
This game will show you why you have to get this game and that is because of all the characters in this game that has their own way of doing wicked moves and stunning death defying stunts. Each character has his or her own Special move and their own way of doing certain types of moves. About 3 of the characters have their own stance so they could get a more wider variety of doing better tricks and getting high air. The characters are all the same as the first one but with new faces in the skate rink so you can gain more and better points to earn stuff. The 3 new characters are Steve Caballero, Eric Koston, and Rodney Mullen. With these 3 new characters you will be playing the game twice as longer than the first one.
Learning the game
Learning the game was a bit harder than learning the first. This game has the same controls as the first one but the top Left and Right buttons are new controls that will help you get new tricks going on and getting some high air. It took me about 15 minutes to learn the game and I was good to go, but, sometimes if you forget the buttons that could be a real pain in the neck so watch what you are doing. It will take a lot more time to learn each characters special move and to learn how to do the moves that you will be able to buy so I say it might take you the reader about 45 minutes to get in control of the game.
Secrets
There is a lot of secret stuff in this game that will lead you into getting more and more items and other secret stuff. Make sure you keep your eyes wide open because secret tapes can be a pain in the neck to find because some of them will seem impossible to get and may take you a very long time to get them in order to beat the level. So make sure you can find all the secret tapes to beat the levels. There is also money floating around levels so you can gain more money to buying boards and tricks. That too will be hard to find so make sure you keep your eyes open for those too. So, make sure you know everything before trying to be professional at this game and think you know it all. Also get a feel for the controls because if you do this game will be easy as possible for you.
Extra
Tony Hawk 2 is basically the same as the first but this time you can customize tricks and now create your own park and character. Make sure you at least create a park that way you will know what's coming up for you in the near future of Career mode. Building your own park can be a good one or a bad one so make it your own customized park so you can play around with it for awhile. Another good extra thing about this is the new and improved tricks you can have and that will keep you going for a long time. Learning new tricks and combos with them will keep you getting killer points to be able to beat the new levels you open.
Sound
The sound for this game is totally awesome and spectacular to listen to. There is no need to turn off the music unless you hate rock but this game has a good choice of rock music to listen to like Papa Roach, Offspring, and Static X. Sound effects are absolutely amazing in the game. At times you might break through glass or even grind a helicopter and hear it move but the sounds of it are so cool to listen to.
Fun factor
This game was filled with lots of stuff to do and can keep you playing this game for awhile. The fun things about this game is practicing playing and creating your own park. These two will help you get better and better at the game without ever putting the controller down. Another cool fun thing to do when playing the game is saving up your money to buy cool boards with better stats than your original board. When saving the money you get after courses you will be able to buy a new board and be able to to a lot of new tricks and get higher air.
My opinion
This game is great for the whole family but I really don't think little kids from ages 5-9 will be able to get the hang of the game but I think it is a great game for the whole family no matter what. I myself really liked the game alot and I think it was amazing. The graphics, sound, and playing the game was absolutely amazing and kept me going to play this game. So if you like skate boarding or not you will like this game.
