Pros: Easily played by kids
Cons: Time consuming

My daughter started playing video games when she was 4 years old and got bored with them very quickly because a lot of them were too hard for her to play.

After buying numerous Nintendo games for her we decided to get a Sony Playstation because, of course, it was the newest thing out there and I wanted it just as much as she did.

We let her play the demo that came with it for a few weeks to see which games she liked the best and could play the easiest. Spyro was her favorite (and mine too) so I bought it for her for Easter.

The game is aimed to attract younger players because of the content. Spyro is a little purple dragon who’s quest is to free all the dragons turned to crystal by Gnasty Gnorc. He must collect treasure (very colorful jewels) and of course fight off bad guys (such as giant sheep looking creatures and bulls) by flaming them or charging them. He enters a total of 6 worlds where there are secret areas and a little blue guy that runs around with stolen dragon eggs. You really have to run to catch this guy because he is fast!

Spyro also has friends that help him out and give him hints. Sparx the dragonfly is Spyro’s best friend and he flies around with him taking hits for him - - Sparx can take 3 hits before he is gone. You can tell how Sparx is doing by his color - -
Yellow- full health
Blue-Medium health
Green-Low health…only 1 hit left.

If you flame some creatures they will release little butterflies for Sparx to eat to make him nice and healthy again.

Once you collect a certain amount of jewels you can move on to other worlds by hopping on an air balloon.

Treasure Rounds - -
You’ll find Treasure Rounds by shooting rocks or solving a platform puzzle. Dragons you free will also give you clues as to where to find some of them.

Worlds- -
1. Artisans- these guys are the most gentle
2. Peace Keepers- the strongest of the dragons…they know the most about battling enemies
3. Magic Crafters- make magic artifacts used by all the dragons throughout the rest of the worlds
4. Beast Makers- these guys are responsible for bringing forth all new species of creatures living in the worlds
5. Dream Weavers- all the other dragons can call on these guys if they have nightmares. They live in the clouds and keep an eye on the other dragons in the worlds.
6. Gnasty’s World- this place is dark! Keep your eyes open here.

We still haven’t gotten all the way through this yet so I can’t let you know how it ends!
