Pros: Great game play, challenging, and a lot of fun to play.
Cons: Some of that challenges are a little frustrating to get through.
The bottom line: This game is for anyone looking for a non-violent action game that is great for the whole family to enjoy. This game is exciting to play and to watch.
Spyro Year of the Dragon is the third game released by Insomniac Games. Spyro Year of the Dragon is the best game in this series so far release. (in my opinion)

The game begins in one of Spyro's home Worlds. There are a total of four worlds, not counting the Super Bonus World. There are also a total of 36 realms for Spryo to concur as well.

The object of the game is to capture all of the gems and the baby Dragon eggs in each of the realms and worlds. The Dragon eggs can sometimes be a little hard to find or a real challenge to receive, but if you look hard enough and stick with it you can get all of the eggs. The gems are not so hard to find, they are everywhere.

You need all of the baby Dragon eggs to restore magic to the different worlds. The Sorceress had captured all of the eggs so that she is the only one who can posses the magic. Your object is to get the eggs that she had placed in the realms and worlds so that you can restores peace and order to these places. The gems you collect are used for payment to Moneybags.

The Sorceress had captured no only eggs but some of Spyro's friends. There are a total of four friends you need to pay Moneybags for so that he will release them to you, Sheila the Kangaroo, Sgt. Bird, Bently the Yeti, and last but not least Agent 9. All of these characters have their own realms and also their own special ability and moves. Such as, Sheila the Kangaroo has the ability to kick. Sgt has the ability to fly, Bently the Yeti (my favorite) smashes items with a large stick, and Agent 9 is sort of off his rocker a little but he carries a gun and he knows how to use it.

In this edition of Spryo, Sparx, Spyro's trusty side kick also plays an important roll in helping Spyro along on his adventure. He has his own worlds to beat. After you have completed each of Spyro's home worlds, Zoe, a fairy, allows Sparx to enter his own realm. After completion of his realm, he is awarded a special move. Such as being ably to tell Spyro where hidden treasure is. There are a total of four Sparx worlds to complete and with that four special moves for Sparx to acquire.

THE OBJECT OF THE GAME:

The object of the game is to collect all of the eggs and gems and to beat the Sorceress in the last of Spyro's home worlds. If you collect all of eggs and gems a Super Bonus World will open up to you. After all of that is completed and you have everything, Spyro will have restored all of the magic to the Dragons.

Some of the challenges in this game can be quite frustrating at times. Some of the challenges involve Spyro to ride on a skateboard. The skateboard races are the most difficult and at the same time thrilling when you do come in first place in the race and receive the egg.

The graphics for Spyro Year of the Dragon are pretty basic and are more cartoonish. Even with the cartoon-like graphics the game is great for older gamers.

It is nice to get away from the more violent action games and still play a game the has a lot of action.
