Pros: superb game play, graphics and storyline
Cons: analog is yucky
Full review
I originally purchased this game because it was 10 bucks at a Disc Replay. Good deal in itself. After playing for sometime, I truely love this game. It is a excellent role-playing game, with superb graphics and great playability. A good game for to spend your time with. Worth every penny.
You can either select to be Chris or Jill. The characters are different becuase you can only hold 6 items with Chris and 8 with Jill. Also, Jill has a lockpick at the beginning of the game with makes everything much easier. I suggest a beginner to be Jill.
Forward
Special agents investigate strange goings-on of an area, then are forced into a mansion. The team is trapped and are forced to battle the creepy beings and puzzles of the mansion. I won't give away anything else from here, because its half the fun of the game.
Controlability
The game play is pretty good. I prefer the directional control rather the analog. The directional controls are alot easier to use in tense, reflex-needed situations, like when the creepy zombies moan and try to get ya dead. The game is unique with the weapons, for that fact that it is two part: You must hold R1 to hold the weapon out in front of you, then use the X button to use it. Difficult to catch on to, but once you learn how to do this efficently, it is effective.
Cool Stuff
When confronted by a zombie, equip your shotgun. Point the shotgun upward, and patiently wait for the zombie to be at a relative 3 feet from you then fire. Sparing the gore and disgusting details of what happens.. let's just say, you won't have to worry about him anymore.
Graphics
There was alot of time spend in the graphics of this game. Especially, in the background. Gifted artwork in the rooms of the mansion. The game itself is dark. I recommend playing it with the shades drawn or the lights out. This heightens the intensity and playing experience. And the cinematagraphing is nonetheless creepy as all get out.
