I have been playing this game for 18 hours!

Okay I better clarify lest you think me a neglectful mother. I love RPG's and I am very picky about them, I for one was not impressed with FFVII, in fact I was disappointed. So when I saw the magazine ads for Lunar I was excited, I was thrilled, I was not going to spend that much money on a game for myself. So, I waited, which was easy considering how late the game was in being released. Finally it came out, unfortunately it came out 3 weeks after my birthday, so again I waited. You may wonder why I waited so long, but with a husband and son who also love gaming if a game isn't for everyone, we only rent it.

FINALLY, December rolls around, and I find out they are going to *GASP* stop production!! I run to my husband I make promises of home cooking' and clean dishes. He says no!! Can you believe it!! Well lest you all track him down and pulverize him for being so mean to an obviously loving and wonderful wife and mother let me say that 2 weeks later I found it wrapped neatly and hiding in my Christmas stocking.

So what does this have to do with me playing for 18 hours almost a year later? Well see I have those kids I mentioned, I only had one at the time but they do multiply. So it isn't easy for me to sit and veg out in front of the Playstation like I used to. My gaming time has to count. It has to be fulfilling. But most of all, a game has to be REALLY good or else after having not played in about 2 weeks I will forget about it.

This has not happened with Lunar. I always want to play this game. When my oldest and baby are sleeping I sneak away into the living room and grab 10 or 20 minutes before I do dishes. This is enough. I have been known to play for hours when the kids are at Grammas. This game keeps me coming back. It is worthy of my limited gaming time.

For a mother perhaps the best part of this game is that I can play while my older boy watches. He loves the songs, and the movies, he really likes the battles and I can read him the story as I go along. My son watches a lot of anime so the style is something he is used to.

I haven't played since I had the baby, but I have been chewing on the idea for a few weeks now. I even wondered if I could bring it to the hospital with me way back before I delivered, but it wasn't really an issue since we never made it to the hospital (see my accidental homebirth.)

The music is great; the game play is smooth and easy to master. The movies are beautiful. I especially liked the "Making of" CD; it showed what the plain old playstation is really capable of in the way of real time movie play. But the best part is that it keeps me coming back, 18 hours in this house takes a while, but I can't wait to play another 18 hours. It is just that much fun.
