Fifa 2001 is the best soccer game ever made for playstation. The graphics for this game are simply superb, and the players resemble themselves much more than in the previous edition of it, where they looked like stick men. You have loads of teams to choose from, and they have made several new leagues, although i only really concentrate on the Premiership with Man Utd or Italy with Inter.

the modes in this game are pretty similar to previous editions- matches as friendlie (1,2,3 or 4 player) and the all the various league and cup formats (which are much more lifelike now I feel, as they have a contnuous flow)

I think the best part of the game are the replays of your amazing plays. When you make the perfect goal or that amazing save you can watch it over and over until your friends exit it for you. You can view these plays in 6 camera views, which I feel is superb compared to the previous editions, although most of the angles are too difficult to play at. These camera angles let you see your amazing plays from all over the field and from other players views. that Beckham free kick i scored was superb.

Another great part of the game is the More human realism and diversity in player faces, the Improved facial animation in the players. David Beckham now actually looks like himself. Also, Defenders mark better, especially in their own half and the Goalies are now more challenging and play smarter (they do not just let you charge down on goal and smack the ball in) Their also a lot of Aggressive sound effects from pitch, and i think having the manager on the sideline is wicked.

Unlike FIFA 2000 and it does not call you offside when you are not and vice versa, which it did on FIFA 2000. Apart from this, there are a few little tweaks in the graphics, and there are more camera angles, but you would still recognise it from previous editions because overall the structure is quite similar. The only change they have made which is really noticeable is the main camera view is not from left to right anymore, and this gives a better perspective in my opinion.

Overall I think that Fifa 2001 for Playstation is a stepping stone for the great soccer games to come in the future.
