The Best PSP game yet.
Pros: About Everything.
Cons: There are a few glitches, and the aiming system still needs work.
The bottom line: If you own a PSP then you have to buy GTA LCS!
Full review
I have always been a huge fan of the GTA series, and when this game first came out I didnt own a PSP. This game is only PSP so I was forced to buy a PSP in order to complete this game so I did. (This isnt the only reason I bought a PSP its just a big reason.) This game also takes place in Liberty City (The same place you are in GTA III) and it takes place before GTA III. So those serious GTA fans that completed GTA III wont have a hard time playing this because they will already be used to Liberty City. I found this game to be loads of fun, and it is one of the best GTA games, plus it is on PSP!
In this game you play as Tony Cipriani, a guy you do missions for in GTA III. And this takes place before Tony was a made man. In this game you will have to do a lot of Missions for Salvatore Leonie another guy you will do missions for in GTA III. This game does have the GTA III feel to it, but it also feels updated and is much more fun to play. It is pretty much as long as GTA III or GTA Vice City. One problem is it is still not as updated as GTA San Andreas, but I didnt like GTA SA anyway. I love how you are in a big city, and you have freedom to do whatever you want.
Free Roaming
If you are a parent, and you wonder why your kids love these GTA games is because you can do whatever you want like steal cars, kill people, run from the cops, ect
Kids will often dislike a game because of what you have to do, but in this you can do whatever you want so kids will love it. My younger brother (Who is about ten years old) can sit there and just free roam for hours, I know this because I have seen him do it. He has friends over constantly because he is the only kid on the block who has a GTA game. When these games were first coming out I couldnt get enough of them, and I pretty much got obsessed with them but then was when I was young now Im mature and I realize that there are more important things in life. The reason these games are so popular is because of the free roaming option. As long as kid isnt doing missions, and not watching the cut Scenes then parents shouldnt have much to worry about. You will just need to explain to your child that this is Fictional, and that they should never do this in real life.
Graphics
There are some really good graphics in this game especially for the PSP. If you have seen Grand theft auto: Vice City then they are about the same. The textures are very smooth, and the people and cars look great so do the cut scenes. One problem is that there is a pretty bad frame rate, and you will notice glitches here, and there. But this does not stop this from being the best game on PSP. These are definitely some of the best graphics for the PSP. I think thats pretty awesome that you can play a GTA game with great graphics on a handheld gaming system!
Gameplay / Fun Factor
This game can be extremely fun to play especially when you are on a plain or riding a car. I mean imagine being able to play an awesome Grand Theft Auto game wherever you go. This missions are very fun to do, because you get to do stuff like kill a Limousine driver, and steal his clothes and act as him, then you will have do take a witness and take her on a roller coaster ride in the Limousine to scare her. You will have to all kinds of crazy stuff like kill drug dealers, and police officers. You will have to act as a Hitman at times and its very fun to kill people in video games. Stealing cars, killing people, and running from police are very fun things to do in video games, and especially in this Grand theft auto game. This game can also be challenging, but it is never too hard so that your not having fun the game really isnt that repetitive. It is also very much fun to drive on the sidewalk, and run over everybody in site. The replay value is good too, because I am already trying to beat it again. If you play this enough then it should last you a few months, the side missions will last you an extra month too. It brought joy to me to drive the car I just stole. The free roaming is fun, and the missions are fun so Id give the fun factor a 9/10.
This game also plays very well you can walk, or run its very fun to drive cars because they handle great and there more hard to flip over in this one. One problem a lot of GTA games had was that you could flip cars over so easily and they blow up after they are flipped. The aiming system still needs a little work though the GTA games still have the problem where it doesnt know good guys from bad guys so when you aim it aims at anybody. For instance when you are trying to shoot a cop, and it will aim at the pedestrian next to you aside from that I think the game play is great. The controls are good too, they all work out great when you first get them, and if you dont like them you can always change them. You will have to drive, and walk with the analog stick but I love it and if you dont you can change it so you use the directional button. If you are familiar with the PS2 GTA games controller then they should only take a minute to get used to otherwise the learning curve is 5 to 20 minutes.
To Parents:
This game deserves its M rating, because there is tons of intense violence, sex, language, and drugs this game is not for children. If the kid is only free roaming then it is not that bad, but the missions are terrible they use tons of Profanity like the F word, there is also sexual references and use of drugs. This game is rated Mature for:
Intense Violence
Blood & gore
Use of Drugs
Strong Sexual Content
Strong Language
I did find a few missions to be pretty frustrating, but they never took me more than an hour or two to complete. This is one of the best GTA games, I just cant decide weather I like this or Vice City better. If you are a PSP owner, then you have to get this game that is as long as you are mature enough.
