The bottom line: If you're looking for a Wii-remote, get Wii Play for much additional fun. Standing by itself, Wii Play is a bit thin though.
Wii Play Review

Wii Play is a collection of nine different mini-games designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the Wii-remote. By themselves these games wouldn't be enough for full-price title so Nintendo included a Wii-remote with the game. A very good decision, because the complete package turned out quite nice!

Using your personally designed Mii, Wii Play takes you through all nine games before letting you off on your own. This is because Wii Play is also designed to be a tutorial for first time Wii players. The game manages quite well at this, introducing many different ways to use the Wii-remote. Once you've tried all games you can choose freely between them, trying to beat your high-score and earn different medals. There are no hidden games or tournaments. Wii Play
is just about breaking scores. That is no bad thing though, since some of the games really has that "Just once more"-feeling.

You can also play against another player. Both play at the same time, which works very well for some games, and less well for others.

The included mini-games are :

Shooting Range : One of the best included games! Shooting Range is similiar to the NES-classic Duck Hunt. Shoot the different targets and rack up combos for extra score. Aiming with the Wiimote works well and there are five different levels to play through.

Find Mii : In this game you have to find certain Mii's. Sometimes you have to pick out two similiar ones in a huge crowd and sometimes you have to find a certain one in the dark using the Wiimote as a flashlight. A quite fun game with loads of levels.

Table Tennis : A quite simple table tennis game more similiar to pong. Not much variation here, just hit the ball by moving the Wiimote. Due to its simplicity this game does not last long, which is sad. If it played more like Wii Sports Tennis it would be great.

Pose Mii : In Pose Mii you have to rotate the Wiimote to pose your Mii so its fits into silhouetts falling from the top of the screen. If the silhouetts reach the bottom of the screen you lose so you have to be quick at switching and turning. This game quickly becomes very hard and isn't very fun either.

Lazer Hockey : This plays like those air-hockey boards sometimes found in arcades. The Wiimote works perfectly here and you can easily move and rotate your paddle to aim the ball just as you want. A nice and fun game which should be played against a second player for maximum fun.

Billiards : A very well made game of pool where you have to hit the balls in order. Aiming and hitting works very well and its easy to sink balls in neat ways. Even though there is only one way to play it this game has much depth and is one of the better in the collection.

Fishing : Use our Wiimote like a fishing rod. By moving the remote you move your rod back and forth over the pond and when a fish bites you have to be quick to pull it up. Simple but fun.

Charge : A strange game, this one. In charge you ride on a cow, running along a track trying to knock down scarecrows. Steering is done by tilting the Wiimote and you can also jump to avoid obstacles by moving the Wiimote up. A very fun game which sadly doesn't last very long since there is only one track.

Tanks : The best of the bunch! And also the only game in the
collection which uses the nunchuck-attachement. You control your tank with the analog stick on the nunchuck and aim by pointing the Wiimote. Your mission is to destroy all enemy tanks on each level. Your shoots bounce off walls, making some tactical aiming possible. You can also lay out mines which can destroy parts of the environment.
Challenging and fun, this is the game I like best in Wii Play.

And there you have it. These games together with a controller is what makes up Wii Play.

The overall graphical style of the games is cute and clean.
It looks good, but it won't impress you. Same can be said about music and sound. A nice touch is that when you get a new medal or introduce a new player the game will post messages on internal message-board of the Wii.

While getting platinum medals on all games can take some time, durability is Wii Plays biggest problem. Some of the included games simply lack depth. But as a quick match together with friends and family it works perfect and is certainly worth its cost.

If you're about to get a new Wii-remote, Wii Play is a great way of getting lots of additional fun together with it. If you're only after the game though, Wii Play might be a bit thin.
