Pros: great graphics, fun for the whole family, lots of characters to choose from
Cons: difficult courses, pirates!
The bottom line: I would recommend this to people who are just looking for some nice gaming, and vibrant graphics!

Product Description
Nintendo Claims: Everyone gets in on the fun of Mario Party 8 for the Wii. Use the Wii remote to twist, turn, lasso your way through 6 all-new game boards and dozens of thrill-packed mini games.
My Experience
This game is quite similar to the other Mario Party games in the series. However, there are a lot of characters to choose from including Toad (he is usually the host, not a character).
The mini games are not all that different from the other Mario Party games, they are just revamped. Playing the games with the Wiimote though is quite different because you actually perform the motions!
Like any other board game, this is one that relies heavily upon chance as well as skill. I like the chance factor, because it allows people who aren't as skilled to possibly still come out on top. Many people don't like this fact, but they should realize that it is supposed to be like a board game and most board games are chance driven.
The graphics in this game are great! I've never seen water in nintendo look as neat as it does in this game!
Some of the courses are a bit tricky to complete and at times it can be a bit slow.
Final Thoughts
I think this game is great for play with family and friends of all ages. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys socializing while playing some fun games!
