Pros: Outstanding graphics, realism and game play!
Cons: Levels are too lengthy and sometimes too complicated
Full review
Unlike the original Turok, Turok 2 has surprisingly better graphics, greatly improved selection of weaponry. The missions throughout the levels seem to appear quite simplistic, yet the mind boggling levels (even with all the cheat codes on) can be extremely frustrating and stressful at times. For an example, Port of Adia, the first and easiest level, has a fairly simple mission; rescue 4 children, activate 3 distress beacons, and defend the energy totem. Simple right? It took me three weeks, hours on end, before I even saw the energy totem (which is the final stage of the level).
When you think you've covered almost the entire levels; you discover a switch in an area that you've been through countless times, which opens up a whole new section of the level and find yourself confronted with the fact that you've only covered about a fourth of the entire level. This game is exceptionally challenging to those individuals who desire to be challenged.
Turok 2 also has a multi-player option, with up to four individuals battling it out simultaneously and more than enough levels to choose from. Although the choice of weaponry greatly diminishes from the original selection there is during regular game play, it still will satisfy even the most addicted gamers. With a "Quake/Goldeneye" like set up, this game gives you hours of end of adrenaline rushing game play with all your friends! However, I would not suggest this game for the younger audiences because of the extreme violence and gore that is portrayed throughout this game (even though most children after the ages of 10 or 12 have already been exposed to most brutal, modern day games). I know for a fact that teenagers and young adults will enjoy a stunning game such as this one! Also if you think this game with the graphics and realism couldn't get any better, try plying it with a rumble pak and an expansion pak!
