How would you like to bring your Game Boy Pokemon to life? Well, here's your chance to do so with Pokemon Stadium for the N64! Don't have a Game Boy? No need to worry, in the game pak, there is a HUGE stable of "rental" pokemon available for you to battle with.
Pokemon Stadium sells, at retail, for about $60-$69, depending on which retailer it is purchased from. The day it was released, I traveled 20 miles to purchase it for $70, and found out that it was worth every pretty penny I paid for it. In the bundle you get the Pokemon Stadium game pak, Instruction Book, and the brand new N64 Transfer pak. The Transfer Pak allows you to upload your favorite Pokemon from your Game Boy Pokemon Red, Blue, or Yellow Game Pak's.
The game play is simple yet challenging, in my opinion. There are many tasks to complete such as the Gym Leader Castle, in which you battle every gym leader, and their understudies; a Stadium Battle, where you can participate in one of four different cups; Free Battles, where your Pokemon can duke it out with a friends Pokemon, or a computer trainer; a Game Boy Tower, which allows you to play your Game Boy Pokemon game paks on the N64; and more!
All around, the graphics are stunning; the best on the N64 to date! All the Pokemon are available (#1-#150..although to play #150, you need to meet certain requirements, and then battle it and win), and #151 (Mew) can be played with a cheating device like Game Shark, and every Pokemon is fully animated with some unique moves. Pokemon Stadium is one game that will keep you interested for months to come. Mine was purchased the day it was available, and I still play it and have not completed all the tasks! It is NOT a difficult game, it is extremely fun to play and very interesting to see a rock type pokemon beat a grass type pokemon because it knows Fire Blast. The game's unique features allow up to 4 players to play in nine (9) mini-games, or many different types of battle scenarios, including a "tag-team" type battle!
Now that you know a little bit about the game, you can rent or buy it and try it for yourself and become a Pokemon Master! I give it 5 out of 5 stars!!!
