Pros: great graphics, all the teams and players
Cons: not enough fighting

NHL 99 is a game for the hardcore hockey fanatic. It includes capabilities to play up to four players on the Nintendo 64 system. This game has great graphics and includes all of the arenas. It is kind of strange though that it doesn't know the name of the Boston Bruins arena. The game says it's Boston arena when it's really the Fleet Center. I like this game because you can pick you own defensive strategies and offensive strategies too. I also enjoy this game because you can choose your buttons to your preference. If you have or want to buy this game I would advise having the Z button being your check button. Considering the fact that this game has a lot of checking in it. It doesn't have much fighting though. There is no blood in the fights which is good for youg children if thats who your going to buy it for. It's a lot better than the previous versions because you can control the puck better. There aren't many drawbacks except a few teams are underated, such as the New Jersey Devils. I like it because you can play a shootout, a season, or an exhibition game.
