Pros: Excellent Single Player Adventure, Great Sound
Cons: Bad Frame Rate/Bad Detail, depending on whether you have an expansion pak, Poor Multiplayer
The bottom line: Even with a sub-par multiplayer mode, this game is still good. Try it sometime, and you'll enjoy this one.

Ah... Duke Nukem. Everyone knows this guy by now. He started in the old side scrolling adventures in the early 90s, and he leaped to 3D in '96. As we wait for Duke Nukem Forever to be released, we get to play Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. This game is different than Duke 3D, as it's a 3rd person shooter. However, this doesn't make the game bad at all. There's plenty to do, and the levels are pretty big. Duke's got some nice weapons in here, and his one-liners are pretty good, and they sound good too (good quality sound for a cartridge). Of course, you also have the babes in here, and they say some pretty... uh... well, unique things, to say the least. The single player adventure is the way to go with this game. It has many levels in it, and I'm still working through it, so I'm not sure just how many there are. As with most Nintendo 64 shooters, the one thing that most people look forward to is the multiplayer action. Unfortunately, this game is NOT the one to play for that. Although the animation is smooth, the feel of it just isn't right. It feels sluggish, and the first person viewpoint that's in the multiplayer mode just doesn't fit too well. However, that's just a minor complaint. You can enjoy it, although it's not as good as Perfect Dark or Quake II. The graphics in this game are a weak point. If you don't have or use an expansion pak, you're stuck with low detail graphics. If you do have one, however, you can increase the detail... but it causes the frame rate to drop. I usually play this in normal detail so that the frame rate is higher. However, everyone has their own preferences. Overall, I like this game, although after I get done with the single player adventure, I'm not sure I'll go back. Multiplayer mode in my opinion isn't as strong as what it should be, so I don't know if I'll come back to this game anytime soon after I beat it. If you don't mind the multiplayer mode in this game, then I suggest you get it. It's pretty good.
