Waiting for Banjo-Tooie.....
Pros: Top-notch game with lots of gameplay hours
Cons: Not many characters, a few boring parts
Full review
As I'm waiting for the sequel to this top-notch game by Rare (Same ones who brought you the Donkey Kong Country series and Donkey Kong 64), here's the jack on the premiere.
You've all played Super Mario 64, right? Well, I think Banjo-Kazooie would have to be about tied in the rankings of all N64 games, near the top. The graphics are great in this game, and run smoothly. Although a few FMV scenes would be cool, overall appearance is very good.
I believe that there are about 11 levels to the game, where you have to collect pieces of puzzles by completing unique and sometimes very difficult tasks, much like collecting stars in SM64. There are 'notes', like SM64's 'coins', but these tend to be more difficult to accumulate in Banjo-Kazooie, since there are EXACTLY 100 to get, instead where in SM64 you only had to get about 100 out of 120 on each level to get a puzzle piece / star.
Sound is much better in Banjo-Kazooie, nothing stupid or cheesy like you might expect from such a game.
One thing I don't like about this game is you can often get lost on the 'main world', and that there are really very few characters in the game.
Final Score: 9/10 (Gold)
[My scale: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond]
**Diamond will probably never be reached**
