We purchased Pokemon Crystal for my son and naturally I had to play it and check it out.
We payed approx. $25 for the game. The graphics are good, although they always could be better. The game is fun and challenging as your main character makes its way through woods and hilltops, towns and villages in an attempt to catch every different kind of Pokemon that exists. Along the way you catch pokemon that you can train and they will help you to catch other pokemon. Each Pokemon has strong points and weak points so a good variety is important. You can carry items in your backpack like Pokeballs which you use to catch Pokemon, special attacks that you can teach to your Pokemon and of course your healing aids. You travel far and wide and are required to battle many trainers and gym leaders after which you receive money or other special items.
Gotta Catch em' All...
This game was somewhat enjoyable for myself but my 10 year old son never puts it down.
After watching Pokemon on t.v he was already well accustomed to the characters and many of the Pokemon. I recommend this child-aged game to everyone. There is a little violence but not graphic. There is no bad language or vulgarity.
It is perfect for long trips...or even short trips.
