Full review

Pokemon yellow (Pikachu) is the third in the series of pokemon games arriving from Japan.
First, the game features improved graphics over the previous versions. Compared to the Japanese versions of Red, Blue, and Green it is much, much better graphically. Some of the pokemon look better in this version than they do in the American versions (i. e. Pikachu). Others don't look as well as the do in the American version though (i. e. Kakuna, Caterpie).

The feature most people will enjoy though is that you can start with Pikachu. This isn't as great as you would think. Pikachu is a fairly weak pokemon in comparison to Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. It's especially difficult in the beginning when a plant or water pokemon is most useful.

Jesse and James of Team Rocket make several appearances throughout the game and even have the same pokemon as on the show. There is also a mysterious house below Fuschia City that I haven't been able to deduce it's purpose yet.

Many of you may have heard that all 150 pokemon are in this game. That's not true. I first noticed some Pokemon were missing when I couldn't find Weedle.

Additionally, several TM's and the HM's are being re-assigned to different Pokemon. At first I didn't know exactly what that meant, but now I do. Here's the best example I can think of: in Pokemon Red and Blue Charizard is listed as a Flying type, but he can't learn any flying moves. However, in Pokemon Yellow he is capable of learning all flying abilities, including HM 02, Fly! But this leaves me wandering one thing... Will a Pokemon from Yellow be able to be traded to Blue/Red because of the TM/HM differences?
