Recently I have been on a buying rampage for Gameboy color games. I found Metal Gear Solid at a game store and immediately it was mine. I went home popped it in, and I knew it was a good purchase. Did Solid Snake live up to his name? Lets find out shall we?

Graphics-5.0- Awesome Graphics for the Gameboy make enjoying this game much better. I was amazed at the level of detail the Gameboy can have with stills. But besides stills the game has great graphics. You can easily tell the soldiers apart by the color of their hair! Solid Snake is in his trusty gray uniform and you can even see the guards stretch when their tired.

Sound-5.0- Usually this area doesn’t excel in Gameboy games but all of you Metal Gear junkies will immediately recognize the music. Yes that’s right this game actually has music you want to listen to. Everything from Snake knocking on the wall to lure guards away to the call of the codec turn this baby up!

Control-5.0- Easy to pull off any move whether it be knocking on the wall to calling Campbell for advice, each command is easy and Konami realized that there are only 2 buttons for the Gameboy and didn’t jam 5 things for each button. You can even crawl which makes saving the world that much easier.

Fun Factor-5.0- Who knew saving the world from a nuclear holocaust could be so much fun. The most original concepts ever, you actually have to avoid guards and sneak around. You get to lure them out by knocking and you even get to hide in a cardboard box! This is too cool so go down to your store and buy, you'll thank me and you'll have another great game for the Gameboy Color. Now get out of the way dad I'm trying to save the world here!
