Pros: Gameplay, Dialogue, never-ending game
Cons: Sometimes marginal sound, lame graphics.
The bottom line: I recommend this game to all fans of Pokemon and people who will be taking a long car trip.

I recently went to work as a counselor at a Boy Scout camp. One of the guys I was in a cabin with had Pokemon Emerald. I was bored, twiddling my thumbs one afternoon, when I decided to give it a go. The graphics are mediocre, yet they will suffice as the screen is so small. You are given your choice of starting Pokemon and each has specific advantages and dis-advantages over the other. There are 250+ species of Pokemon in the game and each has it's own battle cry and characteristics. The sound is good, yet flaky sometimes and the in-battle music is better. One great new addition is the running shoes, which make travel from city to city even faster and helps you escape caves, mountains and the like. Dialogue is updated, as is game-play. The main thing to remember about the game-play is that there is always something that can be done. The game never ends. Even after the game ends, you can still putter around the region. For returning Pokemon veterans, there is the Cable Club (of course) and updated Pokemon Centers, which is nice as you will be visiting them quite a bit. So, are you ready? Partner up with a Pokemon, and leap into the wondrous world.
