While not a sequel, the red man from Speed Devils returns once again to your sega dreamcast with a new challenge for you. That challenge being if you are worthy enough to be his brother as you sit in the driver seat and raise all hell by going against 4 other hot blooded racers in the pursuit owning fame, money, recognition, and cars. And where else can you find a game like this that allows such sinful things, well if you take route 666 and then go on the highway to hell, you eventually spot on what is Ubi Soft's latest craze, Speed Devils Online Racing.

Now don’t get upset from the first four words that started this review, while not being a sequel to the original Speed Devils, it does carry a few surprises up it's sleeves. What kind? Well how bout a exclusive, on-line only race track, or 11 blazing new cars for you to burn hell with, course there returns that nasty habit of gambling, where you can claim your stake with either cash, or if you dare...your very own car. So does hell still live in a fiery inferno, or has it actually froze over, read on and find out.

Appearance:(n/a)
-22 cars in total (11 brand new)
-Outrageous courses (exclusive on-line track included)
-Customizable vehicles
-Win your opponents car or money
-Nationwide on-line play

Plot:(n/a)
Basically you join a league named Speed Devils, and once you start you are labeled according to your experience. D being for rookies, C being for intermediates, B is for the advanced, and then there is A, racers who own hell for what it's worth. So only way to work yourself up from a "D" to a "A" is by getting on the road and claiming victory, with that racing points. Still if you get lost, just listen to the devil's four rules. 1. In victory, you will earn respect. 2. Beyond the speed limit you will find wealth. 3. Seize the cars of your opponents and they will fear you. 4. Have the courage to bet and the drive to win and you shall be my brother. Couldn't of said it better myself.

Graphics:(8/10)
While not much has been changed visually, the game still looks great. Pop-up does not occur at all, no matter what speed your going the tracks flow smooth without hurting your eyes, still the worse they can do is distract them from your vehicle since everything goes in complete chaos by the end of the first track, so tons of eye candy to toss your concentration off, with such things as tornados swallowing everything in sight to a living dinosaur blocking your path as you race at a speed of 153mph, basically anything and I believe everything happens in this game as you race in Aspen, Louisiana, Canada, Hollywood, Mexico, Montreal, Nevada, and a on-line only track, New York. Each having it's own seasonal changes such as winter, spring, summer, etc.

Now to the cars, ah yes those beautiful aluminum creations that chew the road up with tires and make your ears bleed with the roaring engines. Well you get twice as much from the original Speed Devils game, and don’t think the developers just tossed any old thing on wheels to get it released for the holidays, every car in this game looks either erotic, unique, slick, monstrous, or just plain twisted! Course there are the skins that will engulf with such things as royal blue, or a purple coat with orange flames surrounding the sides, there is a skin for each person out there so no one should be disappointed with how the cars come out. So if you thought the cars in San Fransisco Rush 2049 were extreme, then wait till those virgin eyes reading this very review glaze across the monster vehicles in Speed Devils Online Racing.

Sound:(7/10)
Well to be honest, the soundtrack to Speed Devils Online Racing easily gets ignored. Not that it is bad or to bland, just that there is so much happening on the screen that you fall in your own zone for the moment you race that track in order to get first place.

However what does stand out in this game are the sound effects, which I think have been done quite well. You'll hear your car engine roar like a beast let loose in the wild jungle, to your tires screech as you perform that tight U-turn with a trail of smoke behind you, or if you dare to use your nitro’s, you'll listen to the rockets attached to your car flicker as they get set off in what seems to sound similar to a rocket ship taking off, still the best sound in the game is the sound of two cars smashing into each other as metal bends with a bone chilling crunch, and then as you that your car is ok, you see the hood of your car come loose during the middle of the race. Showing that the sound effects in this game clearly stand out while the music is so-so, making me not pay attention to it at sometimes.

Control:(8/10)
Well for a racing game, it is all about having the right amount of touch sensitive control over your vehicle and handling. Speed Devils Online Racing does a pretty good job, considering this is an arcade sim. Basically all you need to know is that the "x" button is downshift, "y" is your handbrake, "a" is to up shift, "b" starts your nitro, and of course "l" accelerates as "r" is your brake, other things like the d-pad changes your view.

Still if your not used to the Speed Devils game system, then you'll most likely slam into walls and other such things, which unfortunately takes damage on your car, causing you to use that hard earned money on repairs, fun! But as you play, you'll get used to the setup and be sailing smoothly while passing others, unfortunately some things such as sharp turns can never be learned as you'll sometimes still hit the wall.

Replay Value:(7/10)
Well while the off-line mode is the worse mode in which I have played as a dreamcast owner, the on-line mode gladly makes things all better, which is why I have to say if you don’t use your modem, then stick with the original as you will only be given the choice of playing a solo track with the cpu. On the other hand, on-line mode is where you'll be racing nonstop with other dreamcast owners as you go on to win money, fame, experience, and of course cars! And the only problem that can be found for the on-line mode is the fact that sometimes the server will disconnect you during a race, making the only thing you keep is the damage you inflicted to your car, I would prefer the money over that any day. Still this game is great for those who never played the original Speed Devils, and if you have then you should enjoy it even more being that you have more experience then the others.

Overall:(7.5)
While, I don’t agree charging the full price for a expansion pack of Speed Devils, I still think that this is a great game, that is if you use your modem, if not then avoid it like you would the devil, cause the off-line mode isn’t that great either, making this a on-line game only type of game. Still with that being, the extras and smooth game play, plus the wild betting make it a keeper in my dreamcast library of games.
