Pros: Great image quality with all the features a small office could wish for.
Cons: Very poor stand-alone network capability. No duplexing on document scanner.
The bottom line: Can't beat the Print quality and the Features. The printer is built like a rock and the warranty is great.

This machine is not without its minor problems but overall it's a great machine for a small office that needs quality output.
The machine we have is the Duplex & Network version. Forget about putting it directly on a network unless all you print is non graphic text based documents. As a stand-alone network printer it is horrid, especially if you print any color graphics. However, once we connected it to a print server (everyone can still access it across the network) it rocked.
The fax system provides outstanding outgoing faxes, and incoming faxed look equally good when sent to us in "fine" mode. You can put in a stack of double-sided documents in the ADF (Automated Document Feeder) and just step away. It scans both side of the document and faxes it out.
The copy function works equally well. Assuming your originals aren't all bent out of shape (paper-clipped and bent corners). Both sides are scanned simultaneously and single or double-sided copies are delivered. (we have the duplexer).
As far as scanning goes, the scan-to-PC function only works when the printer is connected via USB. On the down side it only scans documents on one side even though the scanner is capable of duplex scanning as in the copy function. In any case you put a stack of documents you want scanned in the ADF fire up the Omni-Page software (comes with the printer) and let er rip. You come back to all your documents scanned and waiting for you on the PC. Now all you have to do is decide if you want to just save them as image documents or convert them to editable text with the Omni-Page software.
Printing envelopes is a bit awkward but since we print a stack at a time we can put up with the kludgey way they suggest.
All in all its a great machine that produces great quality text and graphics; not that fuzzy text you get from an inkjet. Best of all, when you fold a finished document and crease the paper, it doesn't smear like an inkjet.
