The X-230 is a solid product from Logitech. The subwoofer puts out a good amount of bass and the speakers play at high volumes without distortion. To get the most out of these you would want a sound card or good integrated audio. These speakers also ship with a 3.5mm audio jack to RCA audio converter so you can hook these up to a DVD player or game console for the extra immersion. The base platform of the speaker rotates upward at a 90 degree angle so you can mount them on the wall if you desire or you can leave them on a flat surface giving you a variety of options for that optimum placement. These are primarily PC speakers but the cables are long enough to have them useful in a small living room TV setup.
One problem with the speakers is that they require the subwoofer to work. So if you want to remove the bass so your roommate can sleep, you're out of luck because the speakers won't work. The sub has a bass adjustment knob so you can lower the bass, but you can never disable it completely. This is because the power cable goes to the subwoofer. That aside these are flawless, I recommend this product. Check them out on Newegg.com
